'Nostalgia' Photo Challege

This was a really fun photo challenge for me and my first with I heart Faces.

This was my Great-Grandfather's tractor...it is a 1955 Old 600 Series farm tractor. I have so many memories around this old Ford that has seen generations of my family through all sorts of jobs and chores.

I remember my Grandpa using it to haul logs out from the forest to build Grandma her dream home. I also remember my Dad getting us to sit up on the trailer to make sure the load didn't fall off! Most recently my Dad, now known as Papa, has introduced my daughter to the tractor by taking her for rides. Of course she loves it, just like we all have!

It is the most nostalgic item for me on the farm and so I thought it would be perfect for this shoot and would give my daughter some more tractor time, which she always loves!

It's All All about ME!? Ummm .... really??

So I was bombing around some photoblogs the other day and found one that I thought was kinda fun/cool. Of course I forgot to add it so now I have no idea where I found it in the first place but I thought I would incorporate the idea into my own blog.

Basically the idea is that you take a photo of yourself once a week and share it on your blog. The whole reason behind it was for women to get out from behind the camera and to reintroduce themselves back into their family's photo history! I would love to see any girls that end up reading this blog to do the same...wouldn't it be nice to be seen every once and a while!?!? :)

Anyway so here is my first week's photo...

It was taken at the Airshow in the little window some poor soul has to squeeze into to connect the fueling hose to another plane - while flying. Yikes!

And PLEASE if anyone does start posting pics let me know in the comments I would love to come check them out!!

We Picture This {Reflections}

So I took this picture just goofing around one day with a small wall mirror in one hand and my camera in another. I can't say that I am completely satisfied with my editing...I kinda wanted more of a dreamlike feel...maybe more alice in wonderlandish...

I did like how I looked more real in the mirror than out and I thought the strange shape it made my face was a little interesting!

Anyway I would love some suggestions or ideas for the editing and such...

I am using GIMP right now to edit and a Canon 30D for my photos!

Tricks of Every Kind

So over this past weekend I have seen some pretty cool things and I thought I would share them. Oh and by cool I mean slightly amusing...actually you can hear me laughing away in the background. This first one is of Eliana showing off her strange talent with her nose and the second is our Dogs strange obsession.
I know for many of us this past weekend has been an emotional one, so I hope that this brings a smile to your face.
